AAC Teachers' Annual Retreat 2017

Spiritual nourishment - the primary purpose why the Religious Education department of Assumption Academy of Compostela (AAC) conducts an Annual Teachers Retreat, although, the activity is not limited for teachers only but to all the working personnel of the school. This is a great privilege that the school has been giving to their teachers and staff.

The Retreat was a three-day undertaking and was held this time at the Benidictine Retreat House at Ulas, Davao City, about two-hour drive from Compostela, Compostela Valley where our school is located.

There were over fifty of us who have attended and enjoyed the benefits of this undertaking. Our Retreat Master, Rev. Fr. Marlon A. Lacal, O'Carm, who happened to be an alumus of the school was very exceptional. He never failed to entertain us with his wit and his inspiring personal stories.

Our hosts, the Benedictine Sisters, on the other hand, were very warm all the way. The kind of accommodation they gave us was divine. No wonder why the school administrators kept on coming back to them.

The food were all sumptuous, plus they were generously served. The unlimited beverages (coffee, milk, tea, chocolate) makes the day for everyone.

The rooms were not so big but not really an issue since we stay in the function hall most of the day. And most of all, the place, itself was very calm and comforting. It is ideally situated and is away from the hustle and bustle of the city where all you hear are the twitting of the birds.

This is my 4th Retreat with the institution and the second time at the Benedictine Retreat House. Hopefully, it's not the last.
